The Lord is gracious and merciful,-- Ps145,8-9
slow to anger and of great kindness.
The Lord is good to all
and compassionate toward all His works.
Give thanks to the Lord, for He is good,-- Ps118,1
for His mercy endures forever.
Be merciful,-- Lk6,36
just as your Father is merciful.
Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ,-- 2Co1,3
the merciful Father
and the God who gives every possible encouragement.
But God-- Ep2,5
who is rich in mercy,
because of the great love He had for us,
even when we were dead in our transgressions,
brought us to life with Christ.
And you child, will be called prophet of the Most High,-- Lk1,76-79
for you will go before the Lord to prepare His ways,
to give His people knowledge of salvation
through the forgiveness of their sins,
because of the tender mercy of our God
by which the daybreak from on high will visit us,
to shine on those who sit in darkness and death's shadow,
to guide our feet into the path of peace.
For God did not send His Son into the world-- Jn3,17
to condemn the world,
but that the world might be saved through Him.
But when the kindness and generous love-- Tt3,4
of God our Savior appeared,
not because of any righteous deeds we had done,
but because of His mercy,
He saved us through the bath of rebirth and renewal
by the Holy Spirit.
Surely He did not help angels-- Heb2,16-18
but the descendants of Abraham;
therefore He had to become like His brothers in every way,
that He might be
a merciful and faithful high priest before God
to expiate the sins of the people.
Because He Himself was tested through what He suffered,
He is able to help those who are being tested.
For we do not have a high priest-- Heb4,15-16
who is unable to sympathize with our weaknesses,
but one who has similarly been tested in every way,
yet without sin.
So let us confidently approach the throne of grace
to receive mercy
and to find grace for timely help.
Have mercy on me, O God,-- Ps51,1-2
according to Thy great mercy.
And according to the multitude of Thy tender mercies
blot out my iniquity.
Wash me yet more from my iniquity,
and cleanse me from my sin.
The mercies of the Lord I will sing forever.-- Ps89,1
