Contemplate His Beauty

``Since through the grandeur and beauty of the creatures we may, by analogy, contemplate their Author.''

One thing have I desired of the Lord,
that will I seek after;
that I may dwell in the house of the Lord
all the days of my life,
to behold the beauty of the Lord,
and to enquire in His temple.

God the Lord has spoken and summoned the earth,
from the rising of the sun to its setting.
From Zion, perfect in beauty,
God shines forth.

-- Ps50,1-2

If, charmed by their beauty,
they have taken these for gods,
let them know how much the Master of these excels them,
since it was the very source of beauty that created them.
And if they have been impressed by their power and energy,
let them deduce from these
how much mightier is he that has formed them,
since through the grandeur and beauty of the creatures
we may, by analogy, contemplate their Author.
